Home Remedies for Hair Loss

1. Hair Oil Massage
The first step that you can take to reduce hair loss is to massage your scalp with appropriate hair oil. Proper hair and scalp massage will increase blood flow to the hair follicles, condition the scalp, and enhance the strength of your hair’s roots. It will also promote relaxation and reduce feelings of stress.
You can use hair oils like coconut or almond oil, olive oil, castor oil, amla oil, or others. Add a few drops of rosemary essential oil to the base oil for better and faster results. Other types of oil that you can use are emu oil, argan oil, and wheat germ oil.
1.    Massage any of the hair oils mentioned above onto your hair and scalp by applying light pressure with your fingertips.
2.    Do this at least once a week.
2. Indian Gooseberry
For natural and fast hair growth, you can use Indian gooseberry, also known as amla. Indian gooseberry is rich in vitamin C, of which a deficiency in the body can cause hair loss.
The anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, and the exfoliating properties present in Indian gooseberry can help maintain a healthy scalp and promote hair growth.
1.    Mix one tablespoon each of Indian gooseberry or amla pulp and lemon juice.
2.    Massage your scalp with the mixture thoroughly. Cover your hair with a shower cap.
3.    Leave it on overnight and shampoo your hair in the morning.

3. Fenugreek
Fenugreek, also known as methi, is highly effective in treating hair loss. Fenugreek seeds contain hormone antecedents that enhance hair growth and help rebuild hair follicles. They also contain proteins and nicotinic acid that stimulate hair growth.
1.    Soak one cup of fenugreek seeds in water overnight.
2.    In the morning, grind them to make a paste.
3.    Apply the paste to your hair and cover with a shower cap. After about 40 minutes, rinse your hair.
4.    Follow this remedy every morning for a month.
4. Onion Juice
Onion juice helps treat hair loss due to its high sulfur content, which helps improve blood circulation to the hair follicles, regenerate hair follicles and reduce inflammation.
The antibacterial properties in onion juice also help kill germs and parasites, and treat scalp infections that can cause hair loss.
In a 2002 study published in the Journal of Dermatology, almost 74 percent of the study participants who applied onion juice on the scalp experienced significant hair regrowth.
·         Extract the juice of one onion by grating it and then strain it. Apply the juice directly onto the scalp. Leave it on for about 30 minutes, and then wash it off. Finally, shampoo your hair.
·         Mix together three tablespoons of onion juice and two tablespoons of aloe vera gel. You can also add one tablespoon of olive oil. Apply this mixture onto your scalp and leave it on for at least 30 minutes before rinsing it off and shampooing your hair.
Repeat either of these remedies two or three times a week for several weeks.
5. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera contains enzymes that directly promote healthy hair growth. Also, its alkalizing properties can help bring the scalp and hair’s pH to a more desirable level, which can greatly promote hair growth.
Regular use can also relieve scalp itching, reduce scalp redness and inflammation, add strength and luster to hair, and alleviate dandruff. Both aloe vera gel and juice will work.
1.    Apply aloe vera gel or juice onto the scalp.
2.    Leave it on for a few hours and then wash it off with lukewarm water.
3.    Repeat the process three to four times a week.
You can also consume one tablespoon of aloe vera juice daily on an empty stomach to enjoy better hair growth.

Have a laugh
while all of us have work and family responsibilities, stressing out too much about them will simply cause you more grief — both mentally as well as physically. There are several ways you can unwind — watch your favorite comedy, catch up with close friends and talk about funny memories. Research says that every time you laugh out loud, increased oxygen flows to your organs, blood flow increases, and stress automatically reduces.
Pets are known not only to give you unconditional love, but spending time with them is actually good for your health. Studies say that when you pet your dog/ cat even for just a few minutes, your body releases feel-good hormones like serotonin, prolactin, and oxytocin, and also decreases the amount of the damaging stress hormones. This results in lower blood pressure, less anxiety and even better immunity.
Get rid of the clutter
Are you surrounded by too many things in a not-so-very big space? Having too much stuff can leave you feeling overwhelmed and bog you down, eventually leading to stress. Living in constantly messy surroundings brings on unwanted anxiety. Therefore, experts say you need to de-clutter to de-stress. Don't start by wanting to clear up everything at once. That will only stress you out further. Begin with a small space and gradually move to bigger things. A space that is uncluttered can feel satisfying and soothing.
Do the housework
While this might seem like a mundane, everyday chore, try to do things a bit differently. Put on your favorite music or TV show in the background, make a list of all that needs to be done, and get down working. Not only will you burn calories and get your work down, you won't be tired and stressed out at the end of it.
Drink juices
Researchers say that the vitamin C present in orange juice can actually help you manage stress better because it lowers levels of stress hormones like cortisol. Remember that vitamin C-rich foods such as orange juice, grapefruit juice, strawberries, or sweet red peppers boost your immune system.
Sing out loud
When was the last time you sang loudly to your heart's content? Turn up the radio and start singing. No matter how bad you think you are, studies show that singing can actually make you feel happier and feel less stressed. Singing also benefits your breathing, 
heart and immune system.
Go for a walk
One of the best ways to beat stress is to exercise. It helps your body produce endorphins that make you feel good. Exercising in warm weather can boost your mood while a daily brisk walk of about 30 minutes can greatly reduce stress levels.
Have some sex
If you're using stress as an excuse to abstain from sex, think again. Having 
sex is actually a great way to ease stress because it lowers blood pressure, boosts self-esteem as well as increases feelings of intimacy with your partner. It also helps you sleep better.

Breathe deeply
Invest in some lavender or rosemary scents and take a deep whiff — it will instantly put you in a more relaxed state and lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol. If you prefer not to use scents, practice the act of deep breathing regularly. This sends oxygen surging through your bloodstream, helping to calm down and beat stress.

8 Foods that ward off stress
Yoghurt: Yoghurt works well especially in summer, as it is light and digests easily.  "Yoghurt or any dairy product is rich in tyrosine which increases the serotonin level in the brain. Proteins increase neurohormone in the brain which eases stressed nerves and calms you down." If plain yoghurt bores you, try the ready-to-scoop-up, fruit flavoured version. Strawberry, blackcurrant, litchi and mango are some popular flavoured yoghurt.

Dark chocolate: Dark chocolates are nothing short of a delicacy, they send our taste buds spiraling. But there is more to dark chocolate such as lowering stress hormone levels and improving other stress-related bio-chemical imbalances. Our body requires a fair dose of antioxidants, and in chocolate the antioxidants come in the form of flavonoids. Besides, the flavonoids are maximum in dark chocolate. Chocolates are good aphrodisiacs, also known as 'love chemical' which is a mood stimulant and booster.
Citrus fruits: Any fruit of your choice is good enough. "Fruits have natural sugar which de-stresses the mind. It is best to go for citrus fruits or any summer fruit. Besides, the natural sugar in fruits is very healthy for the body. Make any one meal fruit rich, and you will feel the difference in your energy levels.

Almonds: Almonds not only promote shiny mane, but also work as stress relievers. Almonds are packed with vitamin B2, vitamin E, magnesium, and zinc. B vitamins and magnesium are involved in the production of serotonin, which helps regulate mood and relieve stress. Zinc fights some of the negative effects of stress, while vitamin E is an antioxidant that destroys the free radicals related to stress and heart disease."


Herbal tea
: Black tea or herbal tea checks calories, and at the same time betters your mood. Justifies "Chamomile tea, jasmine tea, tulsi tea and other herbal variants of tea do wonders to our system. The herbs act like medicine in calming and relaxing our mind."

Fish: An abundant source of Omega 3 fatty acids, fish contains important B vitamins, particularly the renowned stress fighters B6 and B12. "In fact, B12 is one of the most important vitamins involved in the synthesis of the 'happy' brain chemical serotonin; a vitamin B12 deficiency can even lead to depression. Seafood contains high amount of zinc which relives one from stress,"



Broccoli: Broccoli is such a happy, green vegetable. It works magic when added to pasta, rice, salad or simply sautéed with mushrooms and baby potatoes. But did you know the vegetable had stress-busting properties? "Broccoli is chock-full of stress-relieving B vitamins including folic acid, which is also part of the B vitamin family. Folic acid helps relieve stress, anxiety, panic, and even depression. It is also high in fiber content which is helpful in treating constipation and the loose stools associated irritable bowel syndrome which is one of the long term effects of stress.

Garlic: Outside of keeping vampires at bay, garlic eases tension and stress, and reduces glucose levels in the body. If you are not sure about how else to include garlic in your diet, pickle it. Garlic pickle lives long and tastes good with quick snacks, rice and chapati. garlic is rich in antioxidants and helps restore these antioxidants which in turn soothe our stress levels.
